DIESOMNIA

Diesomnia is:

Band Bio

With a combination of thundering riffs, sharp dynamics, and prominent drums, Diesomnia builds a blend of death metal, thrash metal, heavy metal, combined with a sense of artistry and agression.

Diesomnia is the bastard child of four Ohio and West Virginia veteran bands. In 2017 Diesomnia unleashed their fury on the world with the release of their new single "Life of Stone". Diesomnia comprises musical influences from bands such as Slayer, DevilDriver, Sylosis, Fear Factory, Megadeth, Thy Art is Murder, Cannibal Corpse and many more.

Throughout 2018 and 2019 Diesomnia began writing material and sharing the stage with notable acts such as Tennessee's Whitechapel and Russia's Slaughter To Prevail. Armed with a list of new songs the band made plans to record their first album in early 2020.

Yea, 2020.

Just as Cary began laying the first drum tracks the pandemic hit, slowing everything to a crawl. On top of the pandemic singer Chad Cochran's job took him out of state. Although it took time to adjust and accommodate the band continued to meet, write, and record when the metal gods deemed it so. At long last, in November of 2022, hell had frozen over. Diesomnia finished recording and passed tracks on to veteran Eric Rachel for mixing.

The band is excited to return to the stage in 2023 in support of their upcoming EP release, Pray for the Flood.

NEWS: Diesomnia find no truth at the heart of the matter…

Back in 2018 Ohio Death Thrash enthusiasts Diesomnia, the bastard offspring of four Ohio and West Virginia veteran bands, opened a show of the Infinite Bringers of the Night Tour featuring The Black Dahlia Murder, Skeletal Remains and GOST. Five years on, having been forced to postpone due to the pandemic, they are now set to unleash their debut EP “Pray for the Flood” on 16th June, offering “No Truth” as the first taste. A long time coming, but if you like heavy, fast, belligerent, and abrasive heaviness than it will have been more than worth the wait.

Diesomnia – Pray for the Flood

Ohio-based artists Diesomnia’s 2023 release Pray for the Flood is the band’s pandemic-era EP, which had been sidelined because of the logistics of the global virus. The band is finally ready to set the album loose on their fans in the Death-Thrash-Heavy community.

EP Review: Diesomnia – Pray For The Flood (Self)

Like many bands, Diesomnia were affected by the pandemic with regards to the release of their debut EP, Pray For The Flood. They spent years working on these six songs and were going to record them in 2020 only for the pandemic to get in the way of those plans. A few years later, they were able to regroup and put this together. Whether it would’ve been released on their original timeline or not, their heated death/thrash metal is appropriate anytime.

EP Review: Diesomnia - Pray For The Flood

"Pray for the Flood" is an impressive work that offers a mixture of Death Metal, Thrash Metal and Heavy Metal and brings its own artistic touch and aggression. The band members of Diesomnia, who come from four veteran bands from Ohio and West Virginia, have their musical influences from renowned groups such as Slayer, DevilDriver, Sylosis, Fear Factory, Megadeth, Thy Art Is Murder and Cannibal Corpse pulled. These influences are clearly noticeable and give the EP an intense and energetic atmosphere.

EP Review: Diesomnia – Pray for the Flood (Self-Released)

Hopefully we will get a follow-up sooner rather than later – as Pray for the Flood puts Diesomnia in good company for newer artists that can cultivate a following from the death, thrash, or groove/modern-oriented camps.

EP Review: Diesomnia - Pray for the Flood

It’s brutal and oppressive, with many fast parts inherited of Hardcore and Crossover, some ‘slayerian’ guitar riffs; but at the same time, the melodic aesthetics appears on subjective form in the arrangements, and even some traces of Groove Metal arises (as on “Blood Red Sorrow”).

EP Review: Successful Debut

If the Americans have shown anythingDiesomnia With this work, we are facing a band with a lot of attitude and that, of course, combativeness and ferocity have to bore. It is not a bad start within your musical career.
